Alice Stein, VP of Membership
Alice Stein is the marketing director for Vedior Professional Services (a national staffing services company with specialty brands within accounting and finance, human resources and legal sectors (respectively, AccountPros, Human Resources International (HRi), and Compliance Inc.) Vedior Professional Services is a member of the Vedior Group of Companies, one of the world's largest recruitment companies. Alice's background spans various industries, including e-commerce, financial services, and biomedical research. Her areas of expertise include branding, online business strategy, multi-channel marketing, communications, and business development. Alice is actively involved in the Boston community through the Boston Women's Network and Santa Claus Anonymous. As the vice president of community development for the Boston Women's Network, Alice oversees the relationship with Big Sister of Greater Boston developing initiatives that promote collaboration between Big Sister and members of the Boston Women's Network. Alice is also a member of NAFE, the National Association of Female Executives. She holds an MS in Communications Management and BS in Biology from Simmons College.
Responsibilities of the VP of Membership
The Vice President of Membership organizes and conducts a member recruitment and retention program for the chapter.He/she handles all membership requests and updates.He/she is responsible for chairing the membership committee and ensuring that it accomplishes the following.
- Know AMA IH membership procedures and materials (see the Chapter Officers' Guide).
- Act on address changes, new member notification, etc. as received from AMA International Headquarters and/or members.
- Develop and conduct a recruitment program with measurable goals, to meet membership goals.
- Develop and conduct a program with measurable goals to increase membership retention.
- Welcome new chapter members.Reviews lists of new members for welcome calls and members in danger of non-renewal.
- Provide chapter officers with current member information.Coordinate with other officers as needed.
- Follow up on meeting guests as prospective members.
General Responsibilities of all Board Members
The Board of Directors is the official governing body of the chapter and manages all business and property of the chapter. Most importantly, Board members should enjoy their service and build meaningful relationships with their peers and marketers across the country. Plus, attend events at no charge.
- Promote the ideals and goals of AMA.
- Do not reinvent the wheel but take advantage of resources provided by the AMA network.
- Manage chapter affairs with the president and other officers.
- Attend monthly board meetings, which are 2 hours in length each and held in Waltham and downtown Boston.
- Serve on one or more committees, whose work is done between board meetings.
- Help make chapter policy.
- Advise the president and other officers.
- Help plan and/or review the annual chapter budget and plan.
- Coordinate with other officers, directors and committee chairs as needed.
- Support membership drives and spread the word about events.
- The general board has no required role in fundraising.
- Members of the Board serve for at least one year.
- Three consecutive absences may mean dismissal from board, at discretion of board.
