Steven Halling has more than 20 years of marketing experience working in a broad range of companies, from small agencies to large enterprise. Most recently, Steve was the Director of Brand Strategy for IBM's Lotus, Workplace and Portal software business, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this role, Steve lead cross-functional teams from throughout IBM in the development and execution of strategic brand and product positioning programs.

Steve had joined Lotus Development in 1993, which was acquired by IBM in 1995. At Lotus, he managed an award-winning marketing communications team, and later served as Managing Director of Lotusphere, IBM's largest customer and business partner loyalty event. He then was assigned the role of managing the Lotus brand, which gradually grew to include several related IBM software brands. Steve was a manager on the IBM team that led the unified IBM software brand strategy work. More recently, he was leading the planning and roll-out of the new IBM Workplace brand.

Prior to joining Lotus, Steve was General Manager of a Boston-based events firm, and before that, creative director/producer at several smaller marketing agencies located throughout the U.S. At these agencies, he planned and implemented marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies around the world. During his career he has won more than 30 industry awards for creative excellence. He attended school at Hennepin College in Minneapolis, majoring in Media Communications. He has also completed advanced management development programs in IBM and at Babson College. Steve is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Currently, Steve is building a new business working with companies to develop marketing communications programs aimed at breakthrough growth.
