Vic Beck is currently on a one year recall to active duty in the U.S.
Navy and is the Chief of Media Operations for the Multi-National Force
in Iraq. Holding the rank of Captain, he is in charge of running 24/7
media operations in a combat environment. He has responsibility for 85
personnel supporting public affairs, media relations, press desk
operations, press conferences, messaging, producing guidance, and
external communications.
Prior to being mobilized, he was a Vice President at Peter Arnold
Associates, a PR agency based in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
While rising through the Navy ranks part-time, Vic was simultaneously
cutting his PR teeth full-time in Boston area agencies and corporations.
He has developed and implemented a wide range of regional, national and
international communications campaigns for dozens of companies including
Lycos, Xerox and JupiterResearch.
Vic has been the award-winning head of corporate communications at ATG
(Art Technology Group, Nasdaq: ARTG) and ePresence (Nasdaq: EPRE),
formerly Banyan Systems. At ePresence, Vic's communications activities
significantly raised the profile of the company, culminating in its
acquisition by Unisys. He also developed the PR strategy and
implemented tactics for a Banyan company, Switchboard (Nasdaq: SWBD),
prior to and during the company's IPO.
