A Message from the President
On behalf of the Boston Chapter of the American Marketing Association I want to welcome all of you to our chapter. Whether you are visiting for the first time, or are already one of the nearly 800 local professional members, I think you will find something of interest here.Our chapter’s goal is to facilitate the exchange and development of ideas throughout the marketing community we serve. To accomplish this, we build on the foundation of information and resources that come from our parent organization with a mix of local programs and events designed specifically for the Boston market.
Our Board of Directors develops these programs and events as part of our yearly marketing plan. This year, which just started July 1st, we developed our marketing plan around one concept – targeting. Our approach is simple (and perhaps somewhat obvious): to better understand who our members are; what they need most; and then deliver the programs, events and communications that answer those needs.
The results from these efforts are programs targeting collegiate activities, marketing for nonprofits, senior marketer panel discussions, professional development programs, and much more. Watch for our new fall programs to see for yourself how the American Marketing Association is bringing you the information, resources, and the marketing community that will help us all be better marketers.
I am looking forward to working with our Board of Directors, and all of our dedicated volunteers, in bringing our plan to life this year. In the process, I hope to meet many of you at upcoming events.
